Isa Rizado (Oporto, 1998) lives and works in Barcelona.
She brings an architect’s eye to painting, not as subject matter, but as a way of seeing.
Her work explores interiors, light, landscapes and the emotional charge of everyday spaces. Rooms, balconies, surfaces caught in afternoon light. Places that feel inhabited even when empty.
Her paintings create environments that feel both familiar and imagined. Through subtle shifts in colour, atmosphere and composition, ordinary scenes are transformed into places that invite the viewer to step in and stay; spaces one might wish to inhabit, return to, or simply spend time in.
Through painting, she explores how space shapes experience and how the places we inhabit quietly influence the ways we perceive, remember and move through everyday life. Suspended between observation and invention, her work reflects an ongoing interest in what remains to be made between painting and architecture.
Architecture is not the subject. It is the way she sees.
